South Waikato Achievement Trust
Supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals.
About Us
The South Waikato Achievement Trust (SWAT) provides people with disabilities - training, employment opportunities, arts and crafts activities, community orientated programmes and residential services.
The Trust was founded and developed by the local community and allied business people in 1972. Since that time, the organisation has developed from a small service supporting people in the South Waikato region to now offering a wide range of programmes through business units and our Community Participation and Creative Arts Units.
Our Business Units
Recycling Unit: The recycling unit manages the processing contract for the South Waikato District Council; the Recycling Centre is located at Croad Place, Tokoroa. The volume of recyclable products increases as the public responds to the importance of recycling.
Packaging Unit: Specialised production systems are an important ingredient so that quality controls are met and employees have the opportunity to assemble and package a diverse range of products.
Kindling Unit: This unit manufactures and boxes kindling for eventual distribution to the greater Waikato region. The kindling team meets very high quality assurance standards.
E-waste Unit: This business unit prevents E-waste from entering land fill and provides employment opportunities.
"Personal growth, self-esteem and respect results when people are able to be contributing members of their local communities".
